As a member of the Corporate Communications team, you will be accountable for partnering with the UK North Sea leadership team to develop and implement internal communications strategies that support employee engagement in achieving operational goals and objectives. The role will also support external communication initiatives to build my clients reputation as a responsible developer and top employer, by supporting recruitment initiatives, community relations and leveraging our community investment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
*Departmental Support: Develop and implement internal communications strategies and tools that educate, engage and inspire employees to contribute to business growth and performance, and achieve UK North Sea business goals. A key priority is to develop the communications strategies and plans to improve employee engagement and enhance leadership visibility through regular town hall meetings and day-to-day employee communications, as well as build the reputation of the organisation with local stakeholders, and opinion leaders. Work closely with Human Resources and Government Relations to ensure alignment on internal and external messages.
*Special Events: Develop and manage events that facilitate employee engagement and support community investment
*External Communications: Assist the internationally-based media relations team in developing news releases, backgrounders, articles, key messaging, speeches and speaking points; coordinate response to media enquiries; ensure external information is communicated to employees in a timely way; manage the communications approval process between UK and Corporate. Support community relations work - ensuring my client is positioned as a responsible developer by opinion leaders and community leaders. Ensure they are positioned as a great place to work and partner with HR to improve their recruitment processes and messages.
*Crisis Communications: Maintain key business-specific issues files (backgrounders, fact sheets, key messages, Q&As) to ensure the organisation is prepared to respond to issues that arise. Ensure a robust crisis communications plan is in place and that all tools meet regulatory requirements and are integrated with the corporate-wide plan (and the crisis communications plans of our joint venture partners).
*Brand Champion: Ensure proper and consistent branding on internal and external materials, including advertising. Provide advice to internal clients regarding branding.
Education/Experience
*Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or journalism
*6-8 years of corporate communications experience
*Oil & gas industry experience
*Crisis communications experience
*Media relations experience
*Ability to ensure maximum performance, even under pressure
*Consultative skills
