Search's client have a current requirement for a Controls Engineer for there client based in Falkirk Town
The Client:
A leading provider of MEICA services to a wide range of clients throughout the UK in the Water, Industrial and Commercial sectors
The Role:
Controls Project Engineer is responsible, individually or as a team member for all technical aspects of the project from definition through warranty support. The position oversees & performs the design, programming, documentation, testing, & commissioning of control system projects. Controls Project Engineer also contributes to overall team performance by training/mentoring associates, providing technical assistance & improving processes and standards.
Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities:
Electrical/Control System design
Electrical control panel design
Develop & apply PLC programming
Develop & apply HMI programming
Read & understand project related drawings
Write documents such as User Requirements & Functional Specifications
Conduct full functional & Factory Acceptance Testing
Participate in & lead Start-up and Commissioning of projects for the customer
Develop technical solutions & resolve project issues
Additional Responsibilities:
Identify & resolve technical risks in assigned work
Electrical control panel design
Create, improve, & implement organization standards & processes
Provide customer/internal technical support
Train team members & customers as needed
Define & monitor project scope & objectives
Basic project management
Problem solving & troubleshooting hardware/software
Requirements:
Degree in related field preferred or evidence of relevant experience
Two years plus experience working as a Controls Engineer
Experience of working with Allen Bradley, Siemens or Mitsubishi PLCs
Experience with Variable speed drives
Ability to analyse & solve difficult problems independently
AUTOCAD knowledge
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Computer & networking skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks and/or projects
Organisational skills
Ability to establish & meet deadlines
