Insignia Technologies Ltd is an innovative new business developing a range of sensing technologies. The initial products are a range of smart pigments and inks which can change colour when exposed to a variety of gases or UV light. The main focus of our initial range is in the food packaging industry, whereby the colour changing indicators can warn when food is unsafe to eat by undergoing a dramatic and distinct colour change. The patented smart pigments can be easily incorporated into plastic food packaging, creating colour changing plastic film which will help minimise food wastage and ensure consumers know when food is fit for consumption. We are also developing an exciting range of UV, oxygen, volatiles, and humidity indicators for a variety of applications
This role will be specifically responsible for the successful delivery of our commercial plans for a range of products including sunburn warning stickers, baby breath indicators, potty training stickers, and innovative greeting cards.
The Role
As the successful BDM, you will manage and lead the relationship with key UK retailers, including Boots, Superdrug and the top supermarkets. This role will require lots of energy, tenacity, and a real desire to grow our business through securing new listings across the key account portfolio.
The successful Business Development Manager will:
• Currently hold the position of, National Account Manager, Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager, Customer Account Manager, Business Account Manager, or Senior National Account Manager or equivalent.
• Ideally have experience managing Boots and/or with a top 5 UK Grocery account.
• Be strategically minded and able to manage and lead at all different levels.
• Have at least 3-5 years’ experience with a top international Blue Chip FMCG company
• Ideally be degree educated or equivalent
In return you will receive a salary in the range of £40,000-£45,000 (depending on experience) + benefits.
This is can be either an office-based or home-based role (depending on location) with regular travel throughout the UK.
