The Company

Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant on behalf of an Edinburgh based Charity. This is a permanent position with the potential to start quickly so if you meet the criteria below, please apply as soon as you can in order to be considered. The Role

As Accounts Assistant in Edinburgh, you will have a varied set of duties and will report directly to the Finance Manager. More specifically, you will process donations and payments and maintain Raiser's Edge (the company database). You will also prepare daily banking sheets, undertake analysis of income, reconcile Raiser's Edge to SAGE as part of the month end process, assist with budget monitoring and reporting, prepare month end journals, assist with the preparation of Gift Aid claims, provide cover for the other Accounts Assistant and generally provide Finance related support when required. In short, we are looking for applicants who have worked in a similar position previously and are happy operating at Accounts Assistant level. You should have good knowledge of transactional Finance procedures and you will be competent when using Microsoft Office/Excel. Charity sector experience would obviously be an advantage but is not essential. Similarly, if you have Raiser's Edge exposure, please ensure you highlight this as part of your application. Finally, an understanding of the budgeting process would be excellent. Hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. As stated, offices are centrally located in Edinburgh.
