Keep Scotland Beautiful is one of Scotland’s leading environmental charities, operating across the country in partnership with many public, private and voluntary sector organisations. We are concerned with improving the quality of local environments, environmental education, litter control, waste awareness, sustainable development and carbon emissions reduction.

 

Keep Scotland Beautiful is responsible for managing and administrating the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund. The CCF aims to support communities to take action on climate change through the provision of grants as well as the provision of development, training and networking support.  The Community Action Support Programme (CASP) is an important element of the support for communities; it is open to any community tackling climate change and it aims to help improve project performance, build community capacity for the long term and create links to the wider society.  A vacancy has recently arisen for a Community Action Support Officer who will be responsible for the development and operation of the CASP including working with partner agencies to help create a coherent approach to supporting community groups taking action on climate change.

 

Applications are sought from candidates who feel that they have the necessary experience and qualifications to undertake this role.  The ideal candidate will have experience of working community groups, an awareness of current support available to community groups plus an understanding of climate change and the measures that community groups can take to reduce their impact.  Experience of partnership working, delivering training and organising promotional activities is also necessary.
