Financial Controller Edinburgh   £50k + benefits

Hudson’s client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in their finance operation by supporting the CFO and facing off to their shareholders.

The role requires the applicants to have previous experience of leading a finance team and delivering high profile business and finance improvements. A Listed company background would be highly advantageous, as would experience of Stock Accounting, import / export tax compliance and accounting for a share option scheme.  

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Manage and support the Finance Team
• Half and Year End financial statements
• All tax compliance

·         Decision support for executive committee: financial analysis to support strategic decision making.

·         Liaison with group professional advisors: legal, audit, tax, banks, broker etc

·         Working with business process manager to improve internal systems and processes.

·         Involvement in Investor meetings

You must be a post qualified accountant, with the gravitas and capability to lead from the front. You should also have strong working knowledge of IFRS. Applicants must be bright and have the intelligence and belief in their decision making to ‘act up’ in the CFO’s absence. Our client is seeking someone ambitious with first class communication skills. Strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel, are also required.
