My client is a highly regarded company, which provides complete solutions to global customer base within the Oil & Gas industry.

To support their growing business based in Fife and to support expansion of their product range, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineering Group Leader to be part of a global engineering group.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Lead and manage the group to enable delivery on departmental objectives and vision for the future
  • Managing group resource to take account of conflicting demands of project schedules
  • Ensure coaching and guidance is provided for all group members
  • Input to finance / budget control
  • Be accountable for appraisals, objective setting, training plans and monitor and review of employee performance
  • Ensure adherence to safety considerations, industry standards and company guidelines
  • Provide feedback from lessons learned or suggestions for improvement of processes
  • Approve or delegate approval of design drawings and technical documentation
  • Provide input to quotations as required

  • THE CANDIDATE:

  • Significant experience in managing/leading in a manufacturing engineering environment along with a thorough working knowledge of key facets of manufacturing processes, practical experience in a manufacturing environment, and good problem solving skills
  • A diverse background in both design engineering and production and/or previous experience in an IPPD environment considered beneficial.
  • Master Black Belt or similar certifications are desirable
  • Proven management and team building skills
  • Needs working knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulations, ISO and Quality Management Systems and knowledge of budget preparation and cost control

  • ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Mechanical/Technical Engineering Degree (ideally Honours), or equivalent qualifications, in a relevant Engineering/Technical field
  • Chartership preferred but not essential
  • Substantial postgraduate experience within engineering design
  • Experience of managing a multi-functional team
  • Skilled in risk management and mitigation
  • Leadership qualities
  • Appreciation of operational and business needs - customer focused
