We're looking for two experienced Financial Accountants / Reporting Accountants for our Group Financial Reporting (GFR) team in our Group Chief Accountants (GCA) division at The Royal Bank of Scotland Group. This is a six month fixed term contract.

 

Group Finance includes central finance areas, specialist teams and divisional finance teams which support our front-line businesses. Our specialist teams are; Global Finance Services, Group Chief Accountant's, Group Corporate Finance, Group Finance Business and Executive Support, Group Financial Planning and Analysis, Group Internal Audit, Group Strategy, Group Tax, Group Treasury, and Investor Relations. Our divisional teams are; Business Services Finance, Corporate Banking Finance, Markets and International Banking (M&IB), Non-Core and APS Finance, and Retail, Wealth and Ulster (RWU) Finance.

 

RBS employs over 6,500 people in Finance across the globe. This is comprised of central finance areas, specialised teams and divisional finance teams supporting the front-line businesses in over 30 international locations. Finance is responsible for working with the business delivering financial leadership, control, commercial insight and advice.

 

As a Financial Accountant / Reporting Accountant, you'll be part of an outstanding team of professional qualified accountants responsible for ensuring that the Group meets its external financial reporting obligations. This involves working closely with various areas of the Group including other parts of Group Finance, divisional Finance, Group Strategy, Group Risk, Group Secretariat and Group Communications, as well as with external auditors and advisors.

 

To be successful in this Financial Accountant / Reporting Accountant role, you'll need to be a highly driven finalist or qualified accountant, who enjoys working in an relatively autonomous environment. You'll also have a sound understanding of the financial reporting process and it would be preferable to have Big 4 or a practice background. You'll naturally have excellent influencing, negotiation and communication skills, coupled with strong engagement and presentation skills.
