The Research Operations division of the business serves as a data resource for the CoStar products by canvassing markets collecting comprehensive information on market listings along with deal, ownership, planning and company information spanning all the key markets across the UK. 

Role Overview

As a Research Associate at CoStar you play a pivotal role on the ‘frontline’ in the UK; sourcing and showcasing accurate, up to the minute information on our leading suite of property products. Your overall purpose is to effectively and accurately capture business critical information relating to your own personal portfolio of properties.  You’ll source this information by pro-actively contacting leading commercial property professionals and smaller independent professionals; obtaining real-time data by asking the right questions and building effective relationships; to ensure your portfolio is accurate.  Your efforts and endeavours will guarantee the CoStar products consisting of commercial properties replicates the exact knowledge of what is available in the UK marketplace.   Above all with your focal point as quality, you’ll be committed to delivering complete and accurate work of the most excellent standard.

Responsibilities

• Set and exceed your own personal property portfolio goals to reach to reach daily, weekly, and monthly individual and company targets with a crucial focus and compliance to CoStar’s quality standards; consisting of complete and accurate data
• Perform 40+ business critical research interviews a week to clients for your regional area; accurately maintaining the database of commercial property information
• Generate new property listings for your portfolio using a variety of research methods, including building relationships, effective questioning, listening, probing and building rapport and sharing market knowledge with team members
• Successfully build long term relationships with clients through regular contact, building of business awareness/intelligence and keeping up to date with the property market in your area
• Schedule or try alternative methods of overcoming ‘missed opportunities’ due to client unavailability to ensure your property data is up to date in an appropriate timeframe
• Maintain strong knowledge base of commercial property for the UK marketplace
• Network and partner with key contacts in your personal property portfolio remit to enhance the CoStar brand while promoting CoStar products to increase property listings or creating PR opportunities for clients and CoStar which are mutually beneficial
• Proactively identify, volunteer or participate in business focussed research projects to reach strategic goals for the UK property market

Skills Required

Essential

• Good standard of Education including Standard Grades or equivalent including A-C Grades in English & Maths
• Have experience in a business or customer focused environment either telephone based or face to face.  Experience of working to deadlines under pressure
• Solid experience and success of outbound calling and/or relationship building
• Ability to plan and organise own workload
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; verbal and in writing
• Experienced in dealing with commercial business information
• Ability to act upon own initiative and work successfully alone and with a team
• Exceptional customer service experience in a business environment

Desirable

• Degree level of education or equivalent; ideally in a business or property related discipline
• Experience of working in a target driven environment
• Have experience in a business to business environment either telephone based or face to face
• Knowledge of the UK property market
• Experience of working in a research environment
