Meraki Talent’s Global Financial Services Provider client is seeking a Senior Auditor focusing on Customer Conduct to work within their team based in Edinburgh. You will report to the Customer Operations Theme Lead and will lead and manage a portfolio of audits, whilst overcoming timescales, budgetary and resource challenges to complete and deliver the plan. You will also directly contribute to the shaping of that plan and to the wider development of group internal audit.

Responsibilities of the Senior Auditor – Customer Conduct:

  • Assigned audits are carefully planned and researched using a risk-based approach to ensure scope and objectives are clear
  • Audits are executed efficiently in line with budgeted effort and timescales and to a high standard, fully in accordance with group internal audit methodology
  • Audit report produced for stakeholders highlighting findings clearly and concisely and detailing recommendations for appropriate improvement actions
  • Audit findings communicated effectively to the business and management in a clear, constructive and accurate manner to mitigate risk
  • Follow-up of audit findings conducted in a timely basis to ensure the business has implemented changes within agreed timescales and to agreed standards
  • Relationships with key business stakeholders developed and maintained to enhance business knowledge and enable a streamlined delivery of audit services
  • Work collaboratively with other assurance and risk control functions to ensure a co-ordinated, consistent approach to risk management is adopted
  • Support the Head of Audit/ Customer Operations Theme Lead in building credible, partnership-based relationships with key stakeholders in BUs and other assurance functions.  This includes direct responsibility for managing group internal audit interactions with designated BU senior managers and governance committees/forums
  • Act as a focal point for building knowledge of customer conduct/customer operations across GIA, using this knowledge to inform the effective targeting of GIA effort to the key business risks
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of varied and complex customer conduct objectives across the group
  • Deliver assigned audits within tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and with minimal guidance required from Head of Audit/ Customer Operations Theme Lead
  • Identify the root cause of control errors and recommend practical solutions to adequately and effectively solve internal control weaknesses
  • Influencing, working and developing relationships with management to help overcome any resistance to audit findings and recommendations

Background of the Senior Auditor – Customer Conduct:

  • Accounting / audit/actuarial or risk background
  • You should have an understanding of the current regulatory environment, and experience of risk frameworks
  • Impressive track record of delivering deep insights as well as influencing action for change
  • Demonstrate an ability to see connections and to position information in a strategic context 
  • Advanced communication and relationship management skills are essential
  • Self-motivated and well-organised to deliver work in a timely fashion
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in 1:1 and group situations
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships
  • Demonstrable ability to adapt and deliver in a fast-moving commercial environment
