The Role – Accounts Assistant
Green Tourism are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent, full time basis to provide a key financial support to senior management. The purpose of the role is to undertake the financial administration of the company including all bookkeeping activities generated by a membership organisation as well as producing monthly management accounts, dealing with VAT returns and monthly payroll. The role will suit a highly organised, self-motivated individual with the ability to be a strong team player with a commercial understanding of business relationships. You must have previous experience working within a similar role and, as the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include;
- Raise invoices and follow through with credit control where required.
- Input supplier invoices and arrange payment in line with credit terms.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Bank deposits as required.
- Maintain orderly accounting records.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Preparation of monthly management information.
- Processing payroll.
- VAT returns and documentation with HMRC.
- Liaise with external accountant on year end accounts.
Consideration will only be given to candidates who are experienced in a similar role and share the same values as Green Tourism. You will be a confident and pro-active person and will be comfortable providing exemplary support to existing and potential members from their initial application through to the renewal of their annual memberships. You will be IT literate with experience using multiple software packages including Sage and you will have also had exposure to CRM systems being able to demonstrate effective management of these throughout your day to day works. You will be a strong communicator, have the ability to prioritise / manage your own workload and ultimately have the desire to become an important member of the Green Tourism team.
- Starting salary circa £20,000 depending on experience.
- 31 days holiday including publics.
- 40 hour working week.
- Study support if required.
