Office Angels have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our client in Edinburgh City Centre. The role is on a temporary basis, starting ASAP and the hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. The salary is between 8.00- 9.00 per hour depending on experience.

Duties and tasks:

- Provide administrative support to accountants.

- Undertaking clerical tasks such as typing, filing, making phone calls, handling mail and basic bookkeeping.

- Help to maintain the office and keep it running smoothly.

Other duties and responsibilities of the job include:

- Working with spread sheets sales and purchase ledgers and journals.

- Preparing statutory accounts.

- Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.

- Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily post and answering any queries.

- Managing petty cash transactions.

- Controlling credit and chasing debt.

- Reconciling finance accounts and direct debits.

Skills and experience:

- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent attention to detail.

- The ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records.

- A genuine interest in business and finance.

- Good administrative skills.

- The ability to learn quickly and adapt to in-house systems.
