The Wood Mackenzie Finance team now have a requirement for a full time Cash Accountant to be based in the Edinburgh office to support the global financial control function.

Role Purpose 

The Cash Accountant, reporting  directly to the Financial Controller forms part of the global finance and risk management infrastructure, supporting the business regionally. The post holder will assist with all aspects of Accounting to include budgets, forecasting, control, as well as financial modelling and analysis.  For this role to succeed a "one team approach" must prevail at all times as well as an aptitude and appetite to participate in continuous improvement events that support the wider business. 

Main Responsibilities

The main job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report daily activity on the group's bank accounts
  • Ensure that all bank transactions are correctly recorded
  • Reconcile bank account to the General Ledger on a weekly / monthly and quarterly basis
  • Report and document all SOX mandated controls relating the groups cash balances
  • Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
  • Report on actual and forecast cashflows
  • Facilitate the processing of automated and adhoc payments from the ERP system
  • Treasury / Foreign Currency planning and management
  • Liaise with the banks on all matters to do with the on-going administration of the bank accounts.
  • Liaise with the credit control team to ensure that cash receipts are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.

Knowledge & Experience

The successful candidate will have experience in managing own workload, as well as co-ordinate work activities within the team to ensure deadlines are met at all times. You will also have a sound knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, you should have a flexible approach and demonstrate a professional and positive manner at all times.

Being organised and diligent individual with very strong attention to detail is essential to this role.

Experience of using Peoplesoft or similar ERP systems would also be beneficial.
