The Role:

We are recruiting a Management Accountant for a fixed term contract of 1 year to cover maternity leave.  Applications are welcome from candidates looking for either full time or part time roles. 

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, have strong analytical skills and commercial acumen.  Leveraging the best use of technology and systems, the Management Accountant will report on KPIs, play a key role in budgeting and forecasting, and also track and report on the progress, income and costs of various projects.

This role will be based in Glasgow reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with IT and the wider business.  This is a varied and interesting role, and will be suited to a dynamic accountant who enjoys working with a range of people both within and outside of the core finance team.

Responsibilities include;

  • Working with the Head of Finance to deliver insightful MI to the business

  • Ownership of the budgeting and forecasting system (Prophix)

  • Finance Business Partner for IT, working with the IT team to implement appropriate financial governance and controls for investments in technology

  • Work with the technology team to provide metrics and success measures associated with existing and new software products

  • Deliver regular reporting and measurement against budget and business cases

  • Responsible for the integrity of the fixed asset register, and using technology to improve tracking of fixed assets

  • Review of accruals and prepayments

The Person:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA / CA / CIMA)

  • Experience of systems development and delivery of systems projects, for example: Finance systems, budgeting / forecasting systems (experience of Prophix would be an advantage), able to present and format data in a clear and concise manner , excellent organisational and time/project management skills

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills

  • Previous professional services or consultancy experience an advantage

  • Strong team player, but also able to work on own initiative
