You will work with other members of the Finance team as well as court staff to deliver efficient and effective management accounting services to the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) and its users. You will provide essential support to the Financial Business Support team to ensure the delivery of accurate and robust financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting data to SCTS. You will have individual responsibility for overseeing key processes to ensure that targets and deadlines are met.
As Finance Officer you will report directly to the Finance Manager.
You will assist with the preparation of month end accounts, including the provision of the relevant month end reports to the Business Partners and to Management Accountant together with any ad-hoc analysis.
You will collate, analyse and present appropriate financial data for information and decision making purposes as required e.g. pay remit, unit costing, Freedom of Information requests, Scottish Government returns.
You will take an active role in managing the month end close process and work with other units/sections to ensure that all necessary adjustments are processed before finance system closedown.
You will be a good communicator with the ability to explain complex matters effectively at various levels. You will have strong IT skills, particularly Excel, and be willing to work as part of a team. You will be well organised and have a proactive and flexible approach to work.
