Change Recruitment have an exciting vacancy with our established and highly reputable public sector client based in Edinburgh. They are looking for an eager and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join their growing business on a permanent, full time basis.
This role includes a range of payables, including but not limited to the processing of charges, working as part of a small team to produce robust and accurate finance information, including handling international transactions, while maintaining high standards of support and service to all stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Checking of invoices and coding them for input into Oracle
· Identifying and journaling into Oracle costs
· Processing inter-company costs and recharges
· Update new job codes to Oracle and maintain record
· Preparation of one-off foreign payments
· Month end accruals
· Process International partner’s expenses in line with individual agreements and approval schedule
· Responsibility of maintaining petty cash records and month end reconciliation
· Purchasing card administration ensuring authorisation limits adhered to
· Filing and archiving support
· Cover for other finance staff as necessary
Skills and Qualifications
· Education: Basic Accounting or Business qualification
· Experience of working with Oracle Financials
· Experience of working within a finance department
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
· Excellent Excel skills - able to set up and complete spreadsheets with formulas and use pivot and lookup tables
· Good analytical mind
· Customer focus is essential, polite and clear telephone manner
· Ability to write emails and letters to customers with clear and polite instruction/information
· Good attention to detail and accuracy in processing information is a must
