Advert You will work as part of a team responsible for all aspects of payroll administration and report directly to the Payroll Team Leader. It is essential that you have previous experience working within a payroll administration team, processing employee information /changes such as new starters, leavers, transfers, pay increases, pension schemes, voluntary mandates, arrestments, hours and grade changes, and have knowledge of current payroll legislation including SSP& SMP. You must have also have effective communication, interpersonal and numeracy skills; the ability to deal effectively with enquiries from managers, supervisors, employees and a range of agencies; perform gross to net calculations; work to deadlines, as part of a team and on your own initiative.
It is desirable that you have an SVQ 3/HNC in Business Studies/Public Administrative or equivalent or payroll related qualification; experience of operating a multi payroll system; working knowledge of Local Government terms and conditions & SPPA pension schemes.
