  • The Group Financial Controller has responsibility for all aspects of the financial management, including corporate accounting, audit, regulatory and financial reporting, compliance, budgets and forecasting, cash flow, treasury as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

In addition to the core functional requirements the individual must meet the following additional criteria:

  • Based in Aberdeen/shire
  • International business and banking experience essential
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify improvements to drive the business forward through a period of rapid growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong team-building skills
  • Ability to evaluate, document and implement best practices across the Finance department
  • Leadership and core people management skills are essential to the role
  • Relevant finance qualifications or a minimum of 10 years finance operational experience, in addition a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a fast paced growing international organisation essential
  • Overall responsible for the Finance Function with two direct reports (Group Finance Manager and Group Accountant)
  • International accounting and tax experience is essential
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with annual audit and creation of financial statements
  • Management of cash flow and FX
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent accounting software skills as well as Microsoft excel.

    Principal Duties

  • Support the Group Finance Manager in team training & development
  • Ability to influence at all levels and build strong inter department relationships
  • Builds strong working relationships with Directors and Management team
  • Review and submit monthly Group Financial Statement and information to Board within 15 days of month end
  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company’s financial affairs
  • Advising board of best practice and any compliance and legislative changes that may impact the operations
  • Ensure quality controls and documented procedures and policies are in place
  • Preparation of annual audit and financial statements
  • Coordination and management of budgets
  • Builds working relationships with auditors, tax advisors and bank
  • Management of cash flow and FX exposures
  • Suggest and implement improvements to systems and processes
  • Work closely with Contract and Commercial team with input into tenders on billing models and FX
  • Responsible for Corporate Tax and VAT compliance controls
