The role holder will be the key contact for the business in supporting the management of operational tax requirements relating to high net wealth and retail customers.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in ensuring that operational tax systems, processes and controls deliver strong levels of regulatory compliance in the most efficient, effective and customer centric way. The role holder will provide technical support and guidance to the business and change teams on operational tax reporting requirements and process improvements. The individual will also monitor changes to the legislation and market practice in relation to operational taxes and will provide a point of contact for related queries from business managers.
The role holder will be required to develop a strong understanding of the business propositions for individual investors and the operational processes that support them. The individual will liaise closely with other operational tax experts in the wider business and will also be required to develop strong working relationships with advisors, third party suppliers and other external contacts.

Provide technical support and assurance in relation to the reporting of annual income tax and CGT-related information to clients and be a first point of contact for business managers on related questions
Oversee compliance with ISA manager responsibilities for the organisation
Take responsibility for technical accuracy of other statutory returns for operational taxes as well as relevant customer tax documentation
Develop a thorough understanding of the business retail product ranges and associated operations
Ensure operational tax considerations relating to new propositions or other developments are identified and any necessary actions taken
Stay abreast of developments in market practice and legislation for relevant taxes and ensure change requirements communicated to business managers
Participate in external working groups and liaise with industry bodies and tax authorities as required to ensure any business-specific operational tax issues are addressed as part of wider industry concerns or guidance
Develop good working relationships with key business stakeholders and external contacts
Understanding of operational tax requirements and regimes e.g. ISA, FATCA, EUSD
Understanding of personal tax considerations for investors e.g. CGT, Income Tax
