The key duties of this post are:

The post-holder will be lead officer for business support functions within the Bathgate Academy area schools to establishment, maintain and development management information systems to support financial, staffing and resource management. The post-holder will be based in Bathgate Academy.

The post-holder will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of effective policies and procedures to meet all school and business requirements. There will be wide-ranging management responsibilities in ensuring the provision of effective support services within the schools in the area as they focus on national and local priorities.

The skills and experience you must have:

The post-holder must be able to demonstrate previous experience operating at a senior level with an involvement in either financial management, human resources, information technology or an education setting. It would be essential for the post-holder to have experience of budget responsibility/monitoring, working in a computerised environment and of line management a team. The post-holder must be educated to degree level or provide equivalent qualifications or experience. A formal qualification in human resources, information technology, finance or working within a secondary school would be highly desirable.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
