Admin Assistant

Based full-time on the Edinburgh campus, the Administrative Assistant will be a member of a vibrant team in the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society. The main focus for the role is to provide administrative support to the learning & teaching activities in the School, which includes undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes delivered on-campus, via Approved Learning Partners (ALPs) and via Independent Distance Learning (IDL). The post holder will work closely with the other Administrative Assistants and Senior Administrative Assistants to ensure the School priorities and deadlines are met. The work will be varied and will require the post-holder to provide a fair, friendly and timely service to staff, students, partners and visitors.

The Learning & Teaching Support team is one of 6 professional services teams within the School and is managed by the Learning & Teaching Support Manager. The professional services teams within the School are committed to pursuing excellence and within this context aim to provide a supportive and professional environment in which excellent research, education and knowledge exchange can flourish.

Duties include supporting the School’s admissions process by meeting the schedule outlined in the Schools admissions service agreement or as directed by Central Admissions in order to maximise student recruitment. To include: processing applications and enquiries in a timely manner; advising students of possible funding and scholarship award opportunities and ongoing admission status; arranging interviews where required, processing CAS requests and assisting with the School recruitment open days and applicant visit days.

You will be educated to Scottish Highers/A-Level standard (or equivalent) and have experience of relevant administration.
