The roles are on a temporary basis with various shift patterns but this will include weekend work.
*Applicants must be reliable & FLEXIBLE, your own transport is advantageous as you may need to travel in and around the City.

*Maintain high standards
*Good timekeeping and attendance expected
An existing PVG scheme membership is required (this will ensure an immediate start) However assistance will be given in applying for this certificate should you not currently hold this requirement. The cost of the PVG application or update must be met by the candidate.
*Providing an excellent customer-focused service to the public
*Work pro-actively to facilitate the full range of library services & activities such as library memberships, promotion of library events and support of library services
*Receive and respond to customer comments, suggestions and complaints
*Answer enquires, provide information, direct customers to appropriate resources and services
*Undertake supporting procedures to progress customer requirements
*Supporting customers in the use of library technology e.g. Online resources, public PCs or games consoles
*Manage resources - stock maintenance/rotation, collecting, maintaining, ordering , indexing and managing books/journals
*Promoting, developing and encouraging use of the library
*Supporting use of community rooms e.g. managing bookings, setting up facilities and providing support to room users
*Making library premises suitable for public use
