This post is ideally suited to an individual who is keen to gain experience in various aspects of Court work. The successful applicant should be customer focused, flexible, prepared to work as a member of a team, have excellent communication skills and typing experience.
Essentially you will have a typing speed of 40 wpm or RSA Stage III, or equivalent (e.g. Scotvec Typewriting 6, Pitmans Typewriting Advanced First Class Pass OR Civil Service Grading Test or speed test to 40wpm). A typing test will be carried out at interview. Audio and digital recording is used but training will be given.
Duties will include working as part of the main Typing Pool secretariat team which is led by a Typing Manager and consists of 9 Typist-Clerks who provide typing and secretarial services (manuscript, audio and digital) to all Supreme Courts staff and Judges. You will demonstrate flexibility by assisting with Administrative Officer duties in the Offices of the Supreme Courts when required and undertake work shadowing in other departments in order to gain knowledge and experience in those departments.
