We are seeking to recruit a Compliance Officer to coordinate the University’s response to some specific aspects of compliance. These will include the arrangements for international students requiring a UKVI Tier 4 Visa; and arrangements to respond to the legal requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, the Data Protection Act, and relevant aspects of the Consumer Rights Act. Some further compliance work may be agreed with the University Secretary.
The successful candidate will provide expert advice to the University Secretary, and will be the first point of contact for advice and guidance for staff in relation to compliance matters.
You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the principles of compliance, even if you have not worked in this field previously. You will have an interest in, and understanding of, higher education setting, and will display an ability and willingness to develop and extend your knowledge, as required by the post.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, together with an ability to progress multiple tasks to meet deadlines under pressure. They will also possess excellent analytical skills with an ability to locate information from a range of sources, absorb and analyse complex information quickly and prepare and deliver effective training on complex compliance issues in a professional and effective manner.
