The Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences wishes to appoint an experienced grade 5 Financial Assistant to support a busy finance team in the execution of day to day business.
SIPBS is ranked in the top fifty globally for pharmacy and pharmacology. The successful candidates will join an energetic and innovative Institute committed to bold and innovative research and education. Our teaching in pharmacy is fully accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council. Our research operates under the headline New Medicines, Better Medicines, Better Use of Medicines and our research strength was highlighted by the 2014 UK Research Assessment Exercise in which we were placed fourth of 94 on research power (Unit of Assessment 3).
The role involves a wide variety of financial administrative duties and responsibilities, including providing support to the full institute and the wider organisation. This will include budgetary control, tracking and reporting on specific projects, maintenance of registers and databases, organisation and support in the provision of Institute Finance meetings, and general financial administrative duties as required on a day to day basis.
The candidate will work independently and within a team to provide financial support to internal and external stakeholders, interacting closely and effectively with staff and students alike. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a financial administrative professional who is looking to make a key contribution to a large and innovative institution.
Candidates will be suitably qualified, with good IT and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate effectively with staff and other stakeholders is essential. Previous relevant experience in an HE environment is desirable.
