36 hours per week, 42 weeks per year, salary pro rata.
An experienced administrator is sought for this key support post. The successful candidate will be an able communicator who is well- organised and can work under pressure to achieve demanding deadlines. It is essential that the post holder has good knowledge of school administration and has worked within an educational environment, preferably a secondary school. Previous experience of SEEMIS and other school systems is required and the candidate must be able to demonstrate good supervisory and team building skills.
The key duties of this post are:Participate as a member of appropriate school committees and manage and implement finance systems to monitor the DSM and other school budgets. Advise the Head Teacher and Area Business Support Manager on financial matters and provide regular monitoring reports. Administer the use of school premises, maximising community use and let income whenever possible. Provide advice to the Head Teacher, Area Business Support Manager and all other staff on any Human Resource issue. Manage financial and administrative IT systems and provide relevant reports on a range of issues as determined by the Head Teacher, Area Business Support Manager and/or senior staff. Implement Educational Maintenance allowance procedures as directed liaising with Depute and EMA section as necessary. Oversight of travel arrangements (bus/taxi/minibus) for pupils, liaising with Pupil Transport Services when necessary. Implement appropriate administrative arrangements for the effective operation of SQA and UCAS procedures in conjunction with SQA Co-ordinator and Year Head. Assist as appropriate in the production of bids for external funding. Undertake any other duties determined by the Head Teacher in keeping with the job of ensuring the effective budgetary, administrative and Human Resource management within the Secondary School. To provide support to the ABSM in work relating to other schools within their cluster.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
