Based Applegarth Primary School, you will be required to work 23 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, you will undertake a broad range of clerical duties.
This post is based at Applegarth Primary School. On occasion, however, it may be necessary to provide cover at our Partner School, Hutton Primary.
You must have SVQ Level 2/NC/Highers or equivalent, experience of dealing with the public and children.
An aptitude for PC work and knowledge of office systems and equipment are essential. You must be flexible and have a pleasant manner. Good interpersonal skills are essential as is a full understanding of the need for absolute confidentiality. An ability to work with the minimum of supervision is essential.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
The above salary includes a current living wage supplement.
This is a temporary post for a period of up to 8 months. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
