The Planning & Environment Department within Natural Power has developed an outstanding reputation for industry leading renewables expertise and consultancy services. This has been achieved both for onshore and offshore services within a range of UK and European markets. The department is a key service within Natural Power with a history of strong and sustainable business growth, currently standing at a size of 90 people across the Natural Power offices.
Reporting into the Director of Planning & Environment you will play a pivotal role in the smooth and efficient running of the department, maintaining internal and external relationships, and ensuring key deadlines and deliverables are met. A full job profile is available on request, however a high level overview of duties and responsibilities include:
- Departmental support: providing assistance to ensure the team is running efficiently, and procedures are being followed.
- Finance: acts as key liaison with the Finance Department and the Planning & Environment Department for finance-related queries; working closely with Project Managers to ensure that monthly invoices are raised and submitted, and are followed up; assisting the Director with any financial queries or analysis; and raising Purchase Orders as required.
- Department reporting: assisting with the production of monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Team responsibilities: a contact for new-starts and a link between different offices.
- Customer Relationship Management: supporting Business Development teams, ensuring data are up to date and accurate;
- People and office management: ensuring good communication and logistics are in place.
- Quality Management Systems: contributing towards the ongoing ISO systems and processes, including involvement in regular review and audits.
- Line Management: working with the Department Assistant.
You will have an interesting and challenging workload from day one, where you will have the an opportunity to make the role your own by putting in place new processes and procedures, making a significant contribution towards the success of the department.
Ideally you will have a qualification or certification in Administration. More importantly however, you will have demonstrable experience in a similar role, fulfilling comparable duties as outlined above. You will be comfortable in a customer facing role and be used to providing exceptional levels of customer service at all times.
It is important that you are a self-starter from day one, bringing with you new ideas and processes on how to improve your role. You will have exceptional organisational skills, being capable of managing your own time in line with conflicting priorities. In addition to working autonomously, you must be capable of working as part of a team towards a common goal. Further to this, you will have excellent interpersonal skills being able display diplomacy whilst building lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
You will possess excellent communication skills, being able to convey clear and concise information in both written and verbal format to staff, clients and third parties alike. Strong numerical skills are essential as is a good understanding of financial processes. You will have exceptional I.T. skills being a competent and proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook in particular). Exposure to Client Relationship Management or Document Management System would be highly advantageous.

The position will be based from Ochil House in Stirling (FK7 7XE). Recently refurbished to an excellent standard, the office is just off the A91 with easy access to the M80 and M9 motorways.
