21 hours per week Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park provides a great escape for the people of West Central Scotland and promotes recreation, conservation, and tourism for everyone. The successful applicant will work as part of a team to assist in achieving Clyde Muirshiel's objectives in conservation, education and inclusion.
It is essential that you have experience of working with groups or schools and conservation/ environmental groups, have good communications skills, the ability to work with written/ numerical data; the ability to work with minimal supervision. In addition, there will be a requirement to work in an outdoor environment and be available to work a shift pattern which will include weekends and public holidays. An HNC level qualification (or equivalent) in Countryside/ Recreation Management/ Environmental Science / Biological Science and an interest in British Natural History and Conservation of the environment is also essential. It is also essential that you hold a valid certificate in First Aid.
It is desirable that you have experience of; countryside conservation/ recreation management; environmental education and the delivery and running of small events. It is also desirable that you have interpretive training and an interest in outdoor activities. This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution. Accordingly, during the recruitment process, if successful, you will be required to become a PVG Scheme Member.
