We are looking for an experienced Emergency Call Advisor based in the Bield Response 24 (BR24) Call Centre to work as part of a team providing advice and support to our customers for a fixed period of six months to provide maternity leave cover.
Working closely as a member of a small team within the BR24 control room, the purpose of this role is to promptly and sensitively respond to calls received on the BR24 emergency alarm lines (including Out of Hours emergency repair calls). Quickly and accurately assess the caller’s needs and follow procedures to resolve them by providing reassurance to the customer or by making immediate contact with relatives, the emergency services, other contacts or care professionals.
Hours of employment are an average of 15 per week organised as follows:
Week 1 Friday 4.00 pm – 10.00 pm
Week 2 Tuesday, Wednesday 3.00 pm – 9.30 pm (incl a 30 minute break)
Saturday and Sunday 4.00 pm – 10.00 pm
You will need good keyboard skills to enable you to navigate our systems efficiently and previous experience of working with vulnerable/elderly people will help you demonstrate the high level of empathy for which we are looking. You will also need competent call handling experience and a working understanding of a call handling system, the system we are currently using is Jontek.
Full training will be provided and a support team (buddy) to help you deal with the many differing situations you are likely to encounter.
The successful candidate will also be required to complete a Standard Disclosure check with Disclosure Scotland.
