A leading bespoke construction business who have their Scottish HQ located just outside of Glasgow are seeking a Commercial Manager to cover the Scotland region, providing both commercial and technical support to regional offices throughout Scotland.

An established construction business who have been operating for over 50 years - with a strong client base and market leading offering, the business is continuing to grow its capabilities and customer base in the Scotland Region. Diversifying into new types of build - they have a solid platform to further grow their market share in design and build projects.

Description

You will be managing multi discipline teams, spanning commercial, administrative and technical - Working very closely with the General Manager to deliver a sustainable and profitable performance against the set out strategic objectives.

There are a number of pillars that will need to be managed that are pivotal to the success of this position, including the following;

People Management

Leading, developing, coaching and motivating the team. Driving the teams that you manage to achieve the KPIs set out by the senior leadership team to achieve maximum performance.

Commercial

Ensuring all documentation is accurate and is in line with the procedures and customer SLAs

Providing accurate quotations and designs for buildings, maximising order winning opportunities

Managing Key customers/accounts ensuring relationships are effectively delivered.

Providing commercial support and leadership to regional offices, negotiating and agreeing contract terms and conditions.

Technical

Providing both technical and planning support to live and potential projects. Ensuring relevant building standards and regulations are adhered to.

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within the parameters of the contracts. Ensuring appropriate quality standards are in place.

Quality

Working towards Quality systems ISO 9001, ISO 14001

Work alongside the operations department to improve quality standards for building delivery.

Oversee the customer satisfaction feedback process, to ensure the business continues to improve its service and offering in the building and construction sector.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial management background, with some experience in a construction/build type environment.

This is a national position, and the suitable candidate should be willing to travel throughout Scotland, as necessary to perform within the position.

Experience in bids and tender support would also be beneficial.
