Located in Contracts and Provisions Section, Municipal Buildings, Coatbridge you will support the promotion of Health and Safety throughout Education, Skills & Youth Employment of North Lanarkshire Council.
Operating as part of a team, you will undertake safety audits and inspections, vet and monitor work experience placements, conduct fire safety risk assessments, investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses and undertake and support the production of risk assessments. You will provide health and safety advice, prepare safety training material and present training courses or briefings.
You should have significant work experience within a health and safety role, preferably gained within a large multi - disciplinary organisation. Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, experience of working with IT packages used by the Council and good communication skills are also essential as is a full driving licence.
You must possess a professional qualification giving eligibility for full chartered membership of IOSH, although current chartered membership is desirable. You should be prepared to work out with normal office hours in exceptional circumstances.
