Based within Fleming House, Cumbernauld you will work as part of a dedicated team with responsibility for providing a comprehensive health and safety support service for our workforce. Your remit will be demanding and varied and will include undertaking workplace inspections and fire risk assessments to identify any potential hazards and control measures. You will investigate accidents and produce accurate reports with recommendations to prevent a recurrence. You will also provide assistance to operational managers in both routine and complex issues.
A Diploma / NVQ Level 5, or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety Management, along with full Corporate Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, or eligibility for membership, is. These qualifications, together with considerable experience within a health and safety position, will make you our ideal candidate.
You will have practical knowledge of health and safety legislation, as well as effective communication skills, both oral and written. You must also be computer literate and be able to write and present comprehensive reports, as well as being able to demonstrate excellent problem solving skills.
A current driving licence and the ability to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire Council is essential.
