Based at Fleming House, Cumbernauld, you will join our Roads and Transportation team and play a key role in delivering high quality services.
The post is both challenging and varied, involving inspections and contract monitoring. You will have considerable and detailed knowledge of a wide variety of roads construction methods.† You will make frequent use of your highly developed record keeping skills.† The team regularly delivers a demanding programme of improvement and maintenance works; only possible through strong teamwork.† Whilst you will work independently much of the time on routine inspections and sites, you will require to work in harmony with the rest of the team.
You will have extended relevant working experience, including carrying out inspection/clerk of work duties of roads and/or street lighting, monitoring and supervising of contracts and dealing with enquiries from various organisations. With a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, you will also have knowledge of the Roads and Transportation systems RMS and Symology (and Scottish Roads Works Register) is desirable. You will have strong communication and organisational skills and have the ability to work to tight deadlines is essential. Applicants must have an HNC or equivalent (SVQ3 or City & Guilds Level 4) in a relevant subject.
Your reporting base will be Cumbernauld and you will have an operational area within North Lanarkshire, however, the post may involve work throughout North Lanarkshire and outwith public transport routes, therefore, a current driving licence is essential.
Full Time and Part Time hours available, which can be discussed at interview.
