Or perhaps you are already a Commercial Manager within the Construction Industry who would be interested in a new office set up in Inverness with an already established house-builder?
This position demands a well experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor from the Construction Industry to essentially become the Commercial Manager for their Inverness office. Although the North office will be operating as a stand alone, there will be monthly meetings with the Directors from their Head Office in the Central Belt to ensure the appropriate support is given.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to -
Manage all allocated projects and seeing this through from award to completion of client and sub-contractor final accounts.
Attending monthly project and client meetings and ensuring that surveying information and cost advice is provided in an accurate and proficient manner.
Monitoring the timely production of the main/subcontract final accounts, including re-measurement as necessary to facilitate the optimum result, evaluation of all variations a loss and/or expense issues.
Effective interaction with other members of the project team promoting the commercial perspective on all other issues, as well as liasing with team members in the Central Belt.
Form and develop relationships with client, PQS and Design Team.
Carry out annual and interim performance and development reviews.
Identify and act on performance shortfalls or training requirements that may arise during the year.
Ideally the perfect candidate for this exciting position will have a degree in Surveying or similar. They must have experience in working within the Construction industry, and experience within a house builder would be beneficial nut not essential. A background within a main contracting or civils environment would still be considered.
In terms of personality the Senior Quantity Surveyor must have drive and ambition. This role will involve responsibility for a Quantity Surveyor to work underneath them so experience in managing member of staff would also be advantageous.
