North Lanarkshire Council is the 4th largest Council in Scotland and the largest Local Authority Landlord. We have created two new Quantity Surveyor posts to work as part of a Project Services team to provide a quantity surveying service for the Council's 37,000 current properties and progress the housing new build programme and Social Work Capital projects.
Based in Philip Murray Road, Bellshill, you will be joining a Service which strives for excellence in service delivery and works well with partners, including our new joint venture companies. You will assist the Service Delivery Manager within a multi-disciplinary environment and be responsible for cost estimating, preparation of contract documents, payments and contract administration.
These posts represent an exciting and challenging opportunity for highly motivated individuals. You should have an RICS accredited degree or degree with postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification level and passed the appropriate APC examination and interview that would qualify for eligibility for professional membership of RICS (i.e. MRICS).
You should also have moderate experience within the design and construction industry. Applicants with considerable work experience can progress to the NLC11 salary scale.
With a professional manner and excellent communication skills, you should be able to work to deadlines with a sound knowledge of current JCT contract conditions.
Experience gained in a housing or public sector environment is desirable.Responsibilities These posts are apply on-line only.
