Job Description

Work Pattern:  Part Time 16 hours per week - Saturday and Sunday Backshift

Interview Date:  Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th November 2016

To provide a friendly, efficient and effective first point of contact for Fife Council citizens, visitors and businesses. This includes providing advice, information, logging requests for services and taking payments.

To undertake duties in relation to the delivery of council services and to contribute to the on-going development of Customer Service Operations, this includes Customer Contact Centre, Scottish Welfare Fund team, Customer Service Centres / Local Office and integrated Libraries. Priorities are:

• being part of a fast moving, challenging, continual change environment
• taking responsibility for solving customers' problems and issues.

Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.33 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.

• To respond in a positive, effective and professional manner to high volumes of customer enquiries by telephone, email, SMS and writing.

• To respond to vulnerable community alarm customers

• Supporting customers who may wish to access service delivery through channels such as Fife Direct, Local Offices and social media, and to act as a referral point to signpost other services.
