We have an exciting opportunity for 3 Information Centre Advisers (Scouting) to join our team based in Chingford.  We have 1 full time, permanent position and 2 full time, 12 month fixed term positions that we would like to recruit for.

The Scout Information Centre is the first point of contact for the Scout Association. Information Centre. Advisers provide exceptional customer service to enquiries by phone, email and Twitter, providing support to our Members on all aspects of Scouting, using bespoke software.  The Information Centre is open from 8am to 7pm weekdays and Saturday mornings, so shift work and weekend work will be required.

You should be experienced at working within a close team, able to provide excellent customer service and be able to work on your own initiative.  Experience of working in a call centre environment and some Scouting knowledge would be ideal, but not essential. You will need a high standard of IT skills and be able to use Microsoft and bespoke computer software.  You should be highly motivated and be able to learn and explain diverse and technical information to our Members.  Having a good sense of humour and being a team player would be invaluable!

The Information Centre is a small but busy call centre responding to over 400 enquiries a day primarily by phone and email.  You will be joining a team of 8 Advisers providing support and guidance for adult Members of Scouting, parents of youth Members and to members of the public.  The work can be demanding but is fun; you never know what the next question might be!
