About The Role
Work with the relevant stake holders to meet the key business strategies and objectives.
To plan and complete assessments and deliver high-quality and engaging vocational training, coaching and support for learners engaged on Pre-Apprenticeships in Software Development and IT Systems and Networking. (Microsoft Technology Associate level)
To improve and develop learning materials.
To assess vocational qualifications, technical certificates and Core Skills for a caseload of learners across Scotland.
To retain learners engaged on the programme and manage their learning and achievement in line with the targets and objectives agreed in their Individual Training Plan.
To complete regular, formal progress reviews with learners and their (School contact)
About The Person
Work with the Delivery Team Leader Apprenticeships Scotland to achieve agreed volumes for learner engagement, retention and achievement in line with business strategy and plans.
Complete assessment in accordance with the standards for the A1 award.
Work with all stake holders to ensure that agreed quality standards are met
Work effectively with the stake holders to ensure that learners successfully complete their full NPA framework by their planned achievement date.
Ensure that all aspects of the Pre - Apprenticeship Programmes are delivered in accordance with the key processes contained within the organisation’s Process Manual.
Ensure that programmes are delivered in accordance with the organisation’s Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policies.
Provide good quality, accurate information and data on learner recruitment, retention, progress and achievement.
Ensure all required learner documentation is available to support financial claims to the funding body.
Your Skills & Experience
List of skills required
HND/Degree or Level equivalent. Recent industrial experience in IT. Technical\Programming IT knowledge.
Previous experience of working with young age groups (predominately 15 - 17 year olds)
Technical IT knowledge. Microsoft (Server MCPs), Cisco (CCNA & above), Security (CISSP or equivalent)
A recognised teaching qualification, or a commitment to achieving a Certificate or Diploma in teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector
Recent commercial experience and continuous employment working in the relevant industry.
Assessor award or willing to work towards.
Willingness to undertake further training/qualification/s as required.
Experience of dealing with education professionals, in a professional capacity.
Experience of conducting vocational assessments.
Excellent knowledge of business requirements, processes and methodologies.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to identify individual learner needs
Ability to provide feedback in a way that motivates individual learners
Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how these impact on the assessment process
Ability to identify and help learners to overcome potential barriers to progress and achievement
A logical thinker and a passion to achieve
An effective pedagogical approach to learning
