Calside Primary School

Calside Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to join our team of committed professionals providing a high standard of primary education. The school has a roll of approximately 170 with an attached learning centre. Calside is situated on the outskirts of Dumfries, enjoying a mixture of both urban and rural environments. The school has been in the centre of the Calside community since 1980.
Our vision is to build a community of healthy, confident, lifelong learners who embrace challenge, respect others and make a positive contribution to both their local and global community. In all that they do we want our young people to be the best that they can be.
We provide high quality learning and teaching experiences which cater for all learning styles and enables pupils to develop positive attitudes towards learning.
This is a temporary, part time post working 17.5 hours a week to cover a period of maternity leave for up to one year commencing January 2017.
Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
