We are a committed and highly dedicated team looking for someone to join us. We need an enthusiastic and committed class teacher who has the ability to teach with enthusiasm and creativity, in order to motivate pupils to be interested in, and committed to their learning.
You must have a clear understanding of the issues surrounding teaching and learning and demonstrate the ability to create a quality leaning environment.
Lochside Primary is situated in the heart of North West Dumfries. As a school we are an extremely supportive community. We are a very forward thinking and proactive team. We strongly promote a nurturing ethos in order to meet all learners' needs effectively.
Applicants should have a clear understanding of strategies to support meeting the needs of all; classroom and behaviour management skills are essential.
Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
This is a temporary post for a period of up to 6 months.
