East Lothian Council are looking to recruit Additional Support Needs Auxiliaries for their supply list
Working across schools within East Lothian
Working on an 'as and when required basis' up to 27 hours per week
Supply Additional Support Needs Auxiliaries:
Applications are invited from candidates with recent and relevant experience in a care, education or similar support environment to work across any of our schools on part and full time hours.
To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.
Deal with the personal, physical, medical and nutritional needs of children.
Provide support to pupils to achieve targets (all areas of the curriculum) as set by the class teacher.
Work with individual and small groups of pupils with class assignments.
Work with pupils to carry out individualised Education Plans developed in conjunction with teachers and therapists.
Assist with the preparation of classroom materials.
Develop a knowledge and awareness of individual clients and their capabilities and highlight any issues which will assist in the annual review procedures.
Provide appropriate praise and encouragement to pupils.
Supervise in class and out of class activities.
Accompany pupils on educational visits.

Desirable: Qualification/Training in working with children with additional support needs.
First Aid Qualification.
SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential where ASN's will be nursery based.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
