If you are 16-19 years old (prior to 31 January 2017), live in North Lanarkshire and are interested in working with people, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
You will be supporting a range of people young and old in their day to day lives to be as independent as possible.
Our services follow a reablement approach which means that we provide short term and long term support which is designed to encourage independence by supporting individuals to learn or relearn skills and regain confidence through the provision of a wide range of personal and practical support. You would be involved in opportunities to work alongside these individuals to support that person. You will also be developing your core skills that will help you in the workplace.
This 6 week training opportunity provides:
Practical experience of support work in the local community. You will work alongside experienced workers as they support individuals to develop their abilities or pursue their interests;
Practical experience of support work in our Integrated Day Support services for adults. You will work alongside experienced workers as they support these individuals
Employability training, including communication skills, presentation skills, personal development, time management, workplace ethics and interview skills.
The opportunity to work towards certification.
Successful completion of this programme may lead to a Modern Apprenticeship Level 2 opportunity within North Lanarkshire Council and the possibility of a future career within the Health & Social Care Services.
You will require become a Protecting Vulnerable Group Scheme (PVG) member prior to taking up this opportunity.
The interviews will take place in October 2016
