We are looking for a highly qualified digital engineer with industrial experience in communication system development, a high degree of creativity, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and team spirit. Also highly valued is the programming expertise to initialize, validate, test and assist our software team with making your digital systems operational. The candidate should have a strong appetite to develop the new digital processing and digital logic subsystems and collaborate to create complete LiFi Wireless Light Communications platforms for the emerging “digital-light” $1B market. This role will report to the LiFi R&D Centre and new business incubator, and candidates may also have the opportunity to be a part of new LiFi company spin-out businesses.
The candidate will work closely with other development engineers, researchers and senior academics at the LiFi R&D Centre, and also with our external partners.
You should have an MSc degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering/Physics, or equivalent industrial experience in digital electronics for communications, or be able to demonstrate equivalent research and development experience. You must have relevant experience designing communications equipment and digital design experience with processing subsystems, I/O subsystems (such as digital and analogue I/O, Ethernet, WiFi or Cellular), VHDL or Verilog design and PCB design. Programming experience designing embedded systems, in particular with C/C++ is a definite plus.
The post is expected to commence as soon as possible.
Candidates invited for interview will be informed no later than two working weeks after the close of applications.
