Due to the continued success in their Edinburgh Environmental office they are looking to bring into their team an intermediate level Remediation Engineer who is looking to transition in a Senior Consultant in the near future.
Reporting to the Principal Consultant you will be responsible for the collection of scientific data including trial pitting, geological logging, soil and groundwater monitoring and completing associated technical reports covering groundwater risk assessments, Phase I & II.
You will be a part of a team which will undertake and complete investigations, remediation strategies, deployment forms and production of construction design and management health and safety plans.
You will accompany the Principal Consultant when they act as a Site Manager completing Phase II ground investigations and remediation schemes as well as being confident completing Phase I and II investigations on your own.
Additionally you will review contractor Method Statements and Risk Assessments and ensuring IMS procedures are properly followed for all projects including environmental and health and safety matters. You will produce design drawing and cross sections and be comfortable in data manipulation, interpretation and reporting of scientific data
To be successful in this role you will need to hold a BSc in an Environmental based topic with ideally a post graduate specialism in Remediation or Contaminated Land.
You will have spent the start of your career working in the consultancy environment and have detailed experience working on Remediation projects and being able to develop and implement Remediation strategies. Ideally you will have had some interaction dealing with the clients onsite and progress updates and managing their expectations.
You will know how to use data and undertake generic and detailed quantitative risk assessments using the relevant and appropriate modelling tools (Environment Agency P20 Remedial Targets Worksheet, CLEA model etc)
With your career to date you will be competent in delivering site testing, data management, data interpretation input into proposals and communication either via reports (DQRA's, remediation strategy, validation reports etc). You will also be competent in using ArcGIS to aid in contaminant plume modelling and assess plume migration.
Historically you will have provided support to the remediation team in the design, pricing and write up of remediation tenders and projects.
