Work Location: Lochhead Landfill Site by Dunfermline Duration: Fixed term contract for 2 years Salary: £32,400 - £39,326
The council is awarding a design and build contract for a multi million pound anaerobic digestion plant that will produce renewable power and heat from 43,000 tonnes/year of food and garden waste. We need a resident engineer to work with our in-house, external professional advisers and the contractor to ensure that the interests of the council are protected during all stages of the design, build and commissioning process.
You will be a chartered engineer with experience in the design and build of major construction projects, from a client and/or contractor perspective. You will be an experienced civil/structural engineer used to working to tight deadlines and budgets. You will monitor and report on the work of the council’s D&B contractor to ensure that all design, construction and commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with contractual agreements, including those relating to quality, cost and programme, in accordance with the requirements of statutory consents, warrants and permits and health and safety obligations. You will ensure that correct action is taken where required.
Knowledge of and experience in waste management and/or renewable power developments will be an advantage. Experience of process related construction projects (e. power/water/waste water/petrochem), including commission and testing, is essential.
