My client is a global leader specialising in metals trading as well as the manufacture and distribution of steel and advanced engineering products and they now require a Technical Manager for their South Lanarkshire facility.
In this position you will lead the day-to-day process of Technical and Quality issues such that all product is compliant with legal and customer specifications.

Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with standard (and manufacturing) operating procedures.
- Act as lead on all process related Technical and Quality issues

- Represent the business to external organisations, including customers on key technical issues

- Ensures Product Quality is managed to Legal and customer requirements.

- Ensure all defined product and process routes are in control such that legal requirements and customer specifications are met.
- Ensures Product Quality is managed to Legal and customer requirements.
- Manage systems to ensure customer orders translate to correct processing outputs.

- Support and implement development activities, including RD&T, CofE and Development projects.

- Support and enable all required accreditation to technical bodies to allow optimum plate production and commercial profile
- Able to understand and apply Continuous improvement tools

Qualifications & Skills
Educated to degree level, preferably with qualification in metallurgy but knowledge of materials would be considered. Sound technical background, highly numerate with proven experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience of steel, ideally steel plate a distinct advantage.

Experience in process improvement, product improvement.
