Rybka wish to recruit an experienced Mechanical / Building Services Design Engineer for our busy Glasgow city centre office.  We are a progressive Building Services design consultancy employing the latest technology to advance our design capability and understanding of the built environment.   We are looking for an experienced degree qualified mechanical design engineer to join our Glasgow team.

Our core sectors of business include Healthcare, Education, Commercial Office, Mixed use developments, Sustainability, Museums and Galleries, Hotel and Leisure.   We provide a design service for both new build and the regeneration of existing structures including historically important buildings.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical services including schematics and layouts, complete calculations
  • Write specifications, produce reports including condition surveys and feasibility studies
  • Prepare site observation reports based on regular project inspections
  • Plan and adhere to project programmes, making sure that work is carried out on time to the correct standard
  • Operate our internal QA system to a high level of efficiency
  • Be client facing and be capable of representing Rybka at design team meetings and contractor meetings
  • Be an ambassador for Rybka at all times

Personal Attributes:

  • You should have a minimum of a BSc (Hons) or a BEng in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • Ideally you should have experience using both AutoCAD and IES and calculation spreadsheets.  A willingness to manipulate BIM via Navisworks or BIM 360 Glue would be advantageous
  • Strong technical skills with full awareness of  electrical building services and the interrelationships with architecture and structural / civil engineering
  • You are able to cope with the pressures of working in a busy engineering office
  • Strong teamwork, communication and time management skills
  • You should be ambitious and invested in your personal development; a desire to obtain Chartered status in the future is encouraged and will be supported 
  • You will report to the Associate and work with other mechanical engineers
