Here at Hudson we are looking to speak with experienced Compliance professionals on behalf of a client based in Edinburgh who are looking to secure a Compliance officer. This role will see the successful individual serving as the main point of contact for the regulator and acting as the SME for one of the very active compliance functions. This role requires self motivation and provides guidance to junior staff therefore the successful individual will have extensive understanding of applicable rule and regulations. Main duties include:
•Serving as the main contact for the local regulators, including serving as designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), or is the owner of a specific process area(s) within the Global Compliance department.
•Where serving as the designated Compliance Officer as required by regulation, manages all activities to ensure the Compliance Officer's activities align with local regulatory requirements
•Provide guidance to business unit management on compliance risk issues and compliance policies and procedures of a local nature. Serves as lead compliance support to local business units in compliance training
•Perform compliance monitoring and testing, including review of marketing materials, where applicable. At times will be required to escalate matters to senior Global Compliance management
•Lead efforts in special projects
•Complete risk assessments and develops necessary compliance monitoring programs
•Prepare various reports and presentations with some guidance from senior Global Compliance management
•Coordinate regulatory exams and responses to regulatory inquiries and/or findings with guidance from senior Global Compliance management
In order to be considered for this role you will possess the following skills:
•Solid leadership and management abilities
•Solid knowledge of financial models and budgeting
•Extensive working knowledge of multiple regulatory frameworks, regulatory examination process and applicable rules and regulations
•Independently stay abreast of company procedures, products, and activity
•Proficient in Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and MS Project
•Proficient analytical skills
•Ability to develop solid partnerships with the business units to manage several projects/assignments at a time
•Solid presentation skills
•Proficient communication skills, written and verbal
•Proficient verbal and written English language skills
•At least 5 years experience within financial services
