We need people from all over North Ayrshire whatever your age, whether you’re studying, employed or retired. The role is to support people with dementia with activities they enjoy or any hobbies they may have.
Your support will help to reduce any isolation and loneliness, provide respite for families and relieve pressure and enable them to care for the person with dementia so that they can remain at home as long as possible.
Just a few hours a week can make a real difference.
The Dementia Befriender Volunteers are carefully matched with the person they visit and will visit a person with dementia on a regular basis.
They will provide support with agreed social and recreational activities.
